Tracks Bazaar is proud to host the 4th Annual Hopfest on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 4p-10pm (VIP only from 4-5pm). At Hopfest, guests enjoy more than just beer. Born from a vision of revitalizing tired spaces in growing cities, Hopfest brings together exceptional craft beer, a solid selection of food trucks, local vendors, artisans, and makers in a pop-up flea market, and marvelous musicians. A one-of-a-kind festival right in Greensboro’s backyard.

Transit Alliance of the Piedmont is the official charitable partner for Hopfest in 2017!

TAP is an alliance of organizations, leaders and citizens who advocate for public transit in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina.  TAP supports a multimodal transportation network, that encourages transit, walking, & cycling, along with thoughtful land use and development.

TAP works to promote enhancements to the Piedmont Triad's transportation network, that spur economic development, improve our health and safety, protect our natural resources, build community, and connect people to opportunities.

Ryan Saunders
hopfest founder

Hopfest was created out of a drive to bring something cool to my hometown of High Point. The definition of cool can be debated but the energy created from one event was everything I could have asked for. That first Hopfest will always have a place in my heart and now that we have moved the event to Greensboro, NC I realize how pure the intentions of this event really are.

I am glad to be at the center of a growing trend of urban revitalization in the United States. In my opinion North Carolina as a whole is enjoying a really exciting time with the growth of its cities and culture. Greensboro is the third largest city in North Carolina but that fact does not necessarily translate in all aspects of interpretation. Greensboro is full of great people, exciting ideas and new energy but it is like a foreign language to those outside of our city limits even to a majority of people in our own community.

Hopfest is an opportunity to not only showcase the culture and potential that already exists here but to also provide a platform to continue to grow from. Willie Nelson,Austin City Limits and SXSW can be crowned with much of the credit for the thriving cultural mecca that is Austin Texas. The latter two each started with a small amount of money and a lot of ingenuity. Even Las Vegas has turned to street art and music festivals for a resurgence in its tourism for young people. I push for ideas such as putting a hostel in Greensboro because if we want people to visit us and experience our city we can’t expect them to pay $150 to do so. If we want to compete with cities like Chattanooga, Durham, Raleigh and Greenville we have to make it easy on them.

That is why this event exists and the mission that started it all. Create the city you want to live in. One with entertainment, food, music, art and culture. You don’t have a music venue, shut down a street and throw out a stage, don’t have an art gallery paint a wall, don’t have the city you want to live in create it. Hopfest is creating your city. Come add your brick to the foundation. Hopfest 2017.
